“We have to walk in a way that we only print peace and serenity on the Earth. Walk as if you are kissing the Earth with your feet.”
Welcome
A brief back story to why grounding is foundational, not just for our health but every aspect of our lives, along with a blog on the benefits of grounding Read the blog “Let’s Get Wired… In a Good Way” here.…
One small step for man… Simply make a conscious effort today to step outside and introduce some barefoot connection into your day. Just notice what this feels like. We will add meditation over the next few days.
Ground Rules
A few loving Ground Rules.
Connect to Nature
That’s an order. You don’t have to climb a mountain or hike a desert wadi… although those are incredibly healing… just take a stroll down to the end of the road. Change your scenery and let Mother Nature’s energy work its magic. If you can go barefoot, even better.
Throw your Toys
Well, not exactly. But grab a ball - tennis ball, basketball, football, ping pong ball, you name it - and go and knock it about. Hit it against a wall if you need to. Throw it to your dog (or a stranger’s dog). Anything. Just don’t sit inside on your bottom glued to a screen watching other people do it.
Bare Necessities
Are you getting your 10 a day?
Salt Soak
Read the blog then reground and recharge with a beautiful salt bath.
Hydration Essentials
While water may not be what you associate with grounding, read the blog “But First… Water” to see how vital it is and learn a beautiful ritual to bring to your morning before you begin your grounding meditation.
Shake it off
Stand with your legs firmly on the ground and move, wriggle, shake, jiggle… whatever your body calls for. Shake your arms, hands, fingers and visualise them clearing and sweeping away any tension and stagnant energy (energetic debris) around you. Saying a big “Ahhhhhhh”, “Saaaahhh” or “Woooosaaahhh”. is a great way to release any tension wanting to be released. This is something you can do anywhere, but I love to do it in the shower, clearing my auric field and visualising tension and negativity washing away.
Meditations
Give yourself 5 minutes and start from a place of centered calm.
Wash away overwhelm, confusion or simply a racing mind and replace it with grounded clarity. Click here for the full blog.
When it feels like we’re being constantly bombarded with information, news and opinions, it is more vital than ever to know how to tune into your truth. That voice that knows what is right for you in this moment.
Affirmations
Find a quiet place where you can connect to the earth and Mother Nature (even if all you have is a pot plant on your desk), breathe in for 4, out for 8, put your hand on your heart and say one of the following affirmations. Continue to breathe with your eyes closed and just allow yourself to feel this.

The Story Behind The Daily Ground
At the end of 2019, I was driving back from school with my children, feeling the drag of the daily grind, and the heat on the road was tangible. Not just atmospheric heat, but emotional heat. People were bumper to bumper, a supersized something was zigzagging between everyone trying to be the winner home, wherever home was, and I was observing. Anyone who knows me knows that I’ve been that road rage, many times. So for me to now be in that place of observing was immense. And I said to my girls… “What if we are climate change? What if we need to change our inner climates?”
While my thoughts were an oversimplification of way more complex universal laws, I woke up the next day with this vision of every person on the planet beginning their day with this understanding that in balancing their inner ecosystem they could indeed change, not just their experience of it all, but the energy of the planet entirely.
Start With a Cuppa Calm
The idea behind “The Daily Ground” was that people would start their days with a grounding exercise that resonates with them and then, if possible, incorporate various grounding rituals as the day goes on. I will be deeply honest, when I originally introduced it, it didn’t receive the interest I hoped it would. Someone actually said to me, “People are too busy.” I am, however, being called by clients and friends to do it again. In these times where many people are feeling unsettled, disconnected and feel the tension of being pulled away from their truth in various ways, earthing and grounding is deeply needed.
While I would love to see the world doing it 365, I suggest 40 days, which I believe is a number of transformation. They say it takes 21 days to change a habit, but being a birth educator and postpartum professional, I believe 40 is a number of awakening (40 weeks in a pregnancy, the first 40 days postpartum are a cultural magic number). When you turn 21 you think: “Hey, I’ve got the world at my feet!” When you turn 40, however, you think: “Holy shift.” Forty is birth (of whatever that may be for you) and this is when you’ll feel the impact of your work.
The Daily Ground is not intended to feel like boot camp, this is life. Choose what you love. This is not a prescriptive step-by-step, but more a toolbox of resources that you can come to when you need it. As my clients know, I’m not here to wire anyone for health or birth, I’m here to guide you as you discover how to reconnect yourself. That, I believe is sustainable living. Earthed and tuned in to your highest self.
All Emotions Welcome
As the world goes through immense shifts right now, each one of us is essentially experiencing a birth. Everyone I know is experiencing it differently. Anxiety, guilt, fear, anger, depression, grief… ALL of these emotions are coming up for our own healing and awakening. And grounding is the first step in working through short circuits, diffusing ticking bombs, transmuting pain and restoring balance. So, these resources are for anyone who needs them. Please share them with anyone you know who feel could use them (husbands, partners…) and let’s bring about a climate of healing change.
